The Middle East's key hydrocarbon trading hub in the United Arab Emirates has suspended all oil loading after a drone attack and fire on Saturday.
It was reported by sources familiar with the situation, cited by Bloomberg.
The loading of crude oil and petroleum products at Fujairah, near the Strait of Hormuz, has been halted as a precautionary measure while damage is assessed, according to the people, who asked not to be identified because they are not authorized to speak to the media.
Fujairah's press service said in a statement that a drone was intercepted in the area and that the damage was caused by falling debris, which started the fire. There are no reports of casualties.
The attacks come after US forces struck military installations on Iran's Kharg Island, a vital site for the country's oil exports. The attack was previously reported in detail by the Ukrainian News agency.
Tehran responded by saying that any attack on oil and energy infrastructure would provoke attacks on US-affiliated energy facilities in the region.
