Retired US Air Force Major General William Neil McCasland has been missing since February 27 in Albuquerque (New Mexico, USA). He left home in the morning without a phone and has not been heard from since. The military man headed a laboratory linked to a laboratory at a base mentioned in UFO stories.

The day after the disappearance, US authorities announced the so-called "silver alert" - an alert system used to search for missing elderly people or people with medical problems.
Police said the search was urgent due to an unspecified medical problem. At the same time, law enforcement officers describe McCasland as a person who is actively involved in sports: he goes hiking, running and cycling in the Northeast Heights area of Albuquerque and in the foothills of the Sandia Mountains.
As part of the search operation, authorities conducted searches, interviews and coordination of services in the area where the missing person lives. According to law enforcement officers, more than 600 households were checked.
The US Air Force noted that during his service McCasland held a number of positions related to sensitive programs. He was the chief engineer of the GPS program of the US Department of Defense, managed the Space Laser System project and worked as the director of special programs at the Pentagon.
McCasland previously headed the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. In open sources, this base is associated with stories about the storage of debris, allegedly related to the Roswell incident of 1947, when, according to popular versions, an unknown flying object could have crashed.
After retirement, the General worked for the company To The Stars, Inc., which investigates information about unidentified aerial phenomena. His wife said that the husband did not have dementia, but maintained contacts with the UFO research community.
Journalists also noted that the disappearance occurred a few days after US President Donald Trump ordered the release of government documents related to aliens and extraterrestrial life.
And Barack Obama said that aliens exist, but he "has not seen them yet."
