As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in December 2025, the Verkhovna Rada excluded russian and Moldovan from the list of languages that need support and protection under the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages. The law stipulates that 18 languages will be protected in Ukraine, including Romanian.
