US Secretary of State Marco Rubio appeared in public in shoes that, according to journalists, looked too big. The shoes were probably given to him by US President Donald Trump.
This is reported by the Times and the Guardian.
Back in December last year, Trump criticized the shoes of Rubio and Vice President JD Vance, calling them "terrible." After that, he gave both officials four pairs of new shoes.
These are Florsheim brand shoes, which sell for about USD 145. According to journalists, recently the President began to wear shoes of this brand during long working days and decided to order the same pairs for other officials, paying for the purchases at his own expense.
The media note that Trump sometimes tries to independently determine the shoe size of his interlocutors. If the guess is correct, he instructs aides to place the order. About a week later, a brown box of shoes is delivered to the White House, sometimes with a signature or a short note from the President.

During one of his interviews with Rubio and Vance, Trump drew attention to their shoes, after which he praised them, calling them "cool." According to journalists, the president may also unexpectedly ask other officials if they are wearing the shoes he gifted.
Two White House staffers said that many men in the administration wear such shoes and that officials are reluctant to give them up. One cabinet member, according to media reports, privately complained that the President's gift forced him to put aside his favorite pair of Louis Vuitton shoes.
In one of the published photos, the shoes given to Rubio look larger than his foot.
Recall that the White House showed US President Donald Trump in the image of Superman, an image that instantly caused a wave of memes.
