Russians spread fake about death of women's UAV battalion near Kupyansk - CCD

Russian Telegram channels are spreading disinformation about the situation in Kupyansk, Kharkiv Region, claiming that Ukrainian military personnel, due to a "shortage of ammunition", tried to infiltrate the city by changing into civilian clothes. They are also spreading fabrications about the death of the "first women's UAV battalion" near Kupyansk, which was allegedly created due to a shortage of personnel.

This is stated in a message from the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC).

"Without control over the city, russian propagandists are trying to create the illusion of their presence through systematic information throw-ins, while at the same time broadcasting narratives about the alleged shortage of ammunition and personnel problems in the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the CCD notes.

The Center says that such fakes are spread without any evidence - only made-up details, emotional descriptions and non-existent numbers for greater plausibility.

The purpose of the enemy's accusation is to demoralize Ukrainian society and create the impression of a personnel collapse in the army.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Center previously reported how russian hackers are trying to gain access to WhatsApp and Signal accounts.
