Ukraine has increased electricity imports after the start of the repair campaign at Ukrainian nuclear power plants.
This follows from the ExPro publication, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
The report says that since March 7, 2026, electricity imports to Ukraine have begun to grow again.
During March 4-6, the average volume of imports per day dropped to 27,000 MWh, but the next day (March 7) it increased to 32,500 MWh.
On Monday, March 9, the volume of electricity imports to Ukraine from the EU and Moldova increased to 35,000 MWh.
As ExPro's sources in the market note, this is due to the fact that scheduled repairs have begun at one of the nuclear power plant units.
In total, since the beginning of March, Ukraine has already imported more than 280,000 MWh of electricity.

On March 5, Ukraine resumed electricity exports during certain hours of the day at a minimum level and only when there is a surplus in the power system, but on March 7-9, there were no electricity exports, despite the available cross-border section.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in February, compared to January, Ukraine increased electricity imports by 41% to a record 1.26 million MWh.
