Kyiv will receive a batch of generators from the Norwegian capital. Oslo is also considering financing the arrangement of open space in the city's veterans' rehabilitation center. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has announced this.
"I met with the mayor of Oslo, Anne Lindboe, at the city hall. I thanked her for her attention to the issue of Kyiv's energy security. Namely, for the consultations held with the municipal energy company Hafslund and the energy association REN on the possibilities of supporting Ukraine. In the near future, generators will arrive in Kyiv from Oslo. We also appreciate Oslo's readiness to consider financial participation in the creation of an open space for sports and physical rehabilitation of veterans at the city center for rehabilitation and palliative care," Vitali Klitschko said.
The mayor noted that official ties between Kyiv and Oslo were established in 2022. Then, during the Kyiv Investment Forum in Brussels, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed.
"This agreement laid the foundation for mutually beneficial cooperation between our capitals. I am convinced that the visit of the mayor of the Norwegian capital will contribute to a new stage of effective cooperation between Kyiv and Oslo," Klitschko emphasized.
Earlier it was reported that after Vitali Klitschko appealed to international partners for help in overcoming the energy crisis, Kyiv received 218 generators from the EU, more than 200 from Poland, dozens of generators from France, Denmark and other countries.
