The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is stepping up the restoration of road infrastructure, focusing on frontline regions and strategic highways with high traffic intensity. According to Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko, road crews have repaired more than 155,000 square meters of road surface over the past week alone.
"Over 155,000 square meters of road surface have been repaired over the past week. The main emphasis is on patching in the frontline regions and on roads with high traffic intensity," she said.
To ensure safe travel along key routes, the Ministry of Communities Development and the Recovery Agency have been instructed to maximize the pace of work over the next two weeks. The project will be financed from the state budget and the reserve fund, from which the first tranche of UAH 3 billion has already been allocated. It also envisages the use of the mechanism of state guarantees and co-financing from local budgets, which will allow to quickly cover the needs of the road industry under martial law.
Earlier, Mayor Klitschko said that the capital's utilities would start repairing roads as soon as the weather conditions are favorable.
Road repairs will be completed by June 1, as weather conditions allow repair crews to work.
