On Sunday, March 8, the new head of the Dutch government, Rob Jetten, arrived in the Ukrainian capital. This is the politician's first official visit to Ukraine after his appointment as Prime Minister a few weeks ago. The arrival of the high-ranking guest was announced by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Together they visited the Wall of Remembrance to honor the Ukrainian soldiers who gave their lives for the freedom of the state.
"Today, together with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Rob Jetten, we honored the fallen Ukrainian defenders at the Wall of Remembrance," Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted in his official address.
Rob Jetten headed the Dutch government after the King approved the new cabinet on February 23. At 38, Jetten became the youngest head of government in the country's history, succeeding long-serving Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
The first visit of the new head of the Dutch government to Kyiv underscores The Hague's unwavering support for Ukraine in the war against russian aggression. The parties are expected to discuss further military assistance and strengthening bilateral cooperation during the meeting.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Minister Sybiha and his Dutch counterpart discussed energy, defense, and diplomatic support for Ukraine.
