On the morning of March 8, russian troops carried out a targeted attack on a civilian passenger train on the Kyiv-Sumy route, as it was heading to the final station. This was reported by the Suspilne Media.
At the time of the enemy drone hit, there were about 200 passengers in the cars. As a result of the strike, the diesel locomotive suffered significant damage, which led to a temporary stop of movement and complications in further movement along the route.
According to official data from the Ministry of Infrastructure and media reports, there were no victims or injuries among passengers and railway workers. To evacuate people and restore movement, railway workers promptly sent a reserve locomotive, with the help of which the passengers were successfully transported to their destination.
Currently, law enforcement agencies are working at the scene to establish all the circumstances of the war crime and record the consequences of the attack on the transport infrastructure facility.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the afternoon of March 4, a transport infrastructure facility in the south of the Odesa Region came under russian attack. As a result of the missile strike, there was damage and three people were injured, two of whom were children.
Also, on the night of March 3, the enemy once again attacked the Odesa Region, damaging the port and transport infrastructure.
Meanwhile, on the night of March 4, russian occupation forces carried out a massive attack with strike drones on the territory of the Dnipropetrovsk Region. Ukrzaliznytsia reported disruptions in the schedule of suburban trains in the Dnipropetrovsk Region. The delays occurred due to the current security situation in the region.
