An air alert was spreading across the regions, and air defense forces were working on enemy targets.
The consequences of the attack were recorded in the Poltava, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia Regions, in three regions there were forced changes in train traffic due to damage to the railway infrastructure.
The Poltava Regional Military Administration reported the fall of an enemy drone in the Poltava district - there is damage to the roof of a private home. In the Myrhorod district, damage to a private home was also recorded as a result of the fall of fragments of an enemy UAV. No people were injured.
In Kharkiv, a ballistic strike was recorded in the Kyivskyi district, Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported. One of the missiles hit a high-rise building, killing three people and injuring at least ten others.
In Chuhuiv, Kharkiv Region, an enemy drone hit a private house in the city center. A fire broke out at the scene. According to the head of the city, Halyna Minaeva, at least two residents were injured.
In Kyiv, the consequences of the attack in the Desnianskyi district are being recorded.
In Zaporizhzhia, an infant was injured due to enemy shelling, the child is being taken to the hospital. The windows of a high-rise building were also damaged, the Regional Military Administration reported.
According to Suspilne, at least three explosions were also heard in Novodniestrovsk, Chernivtsi Region. After them, a fire broke out outside the city, and residents say they smelled smoke in the air.
Train traffic changed due to strikes on the railway
On the morning of March 7, Ukrzaliznytsia reported damage to the railway infrastructure during a massive attack. In three regions – Rivne, Vinnytsia and Zhytomyr – trains were forced to change routes and are running with delays.
"Reserve locomotives have already been deployed to all de-energized areas. Inspection and repair of the infrastructure have also begun," the Ukrzaliznytsia noted.
They also added that Ukrzaliznytsia monitoring groups were able to protect dozens of passenger trains from over a hundred drones and missiles.
"We apologize for the forced stops and several night evacuations – the worst was avoided due to the coordinated work of railway workers and the skill of the Defense Forces," the company emphasized.
