On Friday, March 6, 300 soldiers and two civilians returned to Ukraine from russian captivity. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on his Telegram channel.
The head of state said that among those who returned today are soldiers from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, and the Border Guard Service. Privates, sergeants and officers. They defended Ukraine in different areas: Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and in Mariupol. Most of them had been in captivity for more than a year, some since 2022.

"I thank all our soldiers who ensure this result by replenishing the exchange fund for Ukraine. I thank the entire team that worked for this result. I am grateful to the United States for mediation. It is important that the agreements worked. We remember each and every one of them, and we must return all our people," Zelenskyy wrote.

In addition, the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War said that the youngest released prisoner was 26 years old, the oldest was 60.

Among other things, the Coordination Center noted that the final stage of the prisoner exchange took place today in accordance with the agreements in Geneva.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on March 5, Ukraine and the aggressor country russia held the first stage of the prisoner exchange with the mediation of the United States and the United Arab Emirates. 200 Ukrainian defenders - soldiers of the Armed Forces, the State Special Transport Service, border guards and the National Guard - returned home from russian captivity.
