Hungary has captured 7 employees of Oschadbank who were traveling with money on a collection flight from Austria. Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has written this on X.

According to him, the reasons for the detention and the current state of health of the Ukrainians are not known, and there is no communication with them.

The seven Ukrainians are employees of the state-owned Oschadbank. They were traveling in two collection vehicles between Austria and Ukraine, transporting funds and valuables between state-owned banks.

"In fact, we are talking about Hungary taking hostages and stealing money. If this is the 'force' that Mr. Orban announced earlier today, it is the force of a criminal group. This is state terrorism and racketeering. We have already sent an official note demanding the immediate release of our citizens. We will also appeal to the European Union to provide a clear qualification of Hungary's illegal actions, hostage-taking and robbery," Sybiha wrote.

What Oschadbank says?

According to the GPS signal, the illegally detained Oschadbank cars are currently in the center of Budapest, near one of the Hungarian security forces.

"The transportation of funds and valuables was carried out by Oschadbank within the framework and pursuant to an international agreement with Raiffeisen Bank, Austria. The cargo was cleared in accordance with international transportation rules and current European customs procedures. The amount of valuables in the stolen cars amounted to USD 40 million, EUR 35 million, and 9 kg of gold," the bank said.

As a reminder, Zelenskyy threatened Orban with the Armed Forces because Hungary blocked EUR 90 billion for Ukraine.
