Former promoter of world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk Oleksandr Krasiuk said that the boxer himself may not realize whether the moment of fatigue from sports has come. According to him, the team that works with the athlete helps to objectively assess the situation. He said this in an interview with the Tyke Maison portal.

Why can't the boxer be objective about himself?

Oleksandr Krasiuk compared the situation with a driver behind the wheel who controls a car, but cannot see it from the side, therefore he does not see the situation as a whole.

"It seems to me that Usyk himself does not understand this yet. It's like a driver behind the wheel: he drives a car, but cannot see it from the side - he cannot assess either the color or the overall picture. It is always better seen from the side," Krasiuk said.

According to the promoter, an important role in such a situation is played by people from the boxer's team who can objectively assess the athlete's condition.

"That is why the team plays a big role - people who advise and prompt. They should analyze the situation, like a navigator in a race, who warns about a turn or the need to increase speed," he noted.

Krasiuk added that the decision will depend on whether the advisors are guided by professional experience or financial interests.

"Usyk cannot be completely objective about himself, so the decision will depend on those around him. If these are professional people with experience and a cool head, the advice will be weighted. If only money is the priority, then there is a risk of error," Krasiuk said.

When is Usyk's next fight?

Ukrainian world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk will hold his next fight against Dutch kickboxer Rico Verhoeven on May 23 in the city of Giza in Egypt. The fight will be for the WBC heavyweight title, which Usyk currently holds. The 36-year-old Verhoeven is one of the most successful kickboxers of our time and has topped the world heavyweight rankings since 2014, and also has one fight each in professional boxing and mixed martial arts.
