On the morning of March 4, russian troops attacked a transport infrastructure facility in Mykolaiv using Shahed-type attack drones. The head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitalii Kim has reported this.
A fire broke out as a result of the hit. One person was lightly injured and hospitalized.
Later, Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction Oleksii Kuleba clarified that the enemy drone hit an empty train that had arrived for maintenance. The victim was an employee of Ukrzaliznytsia. In addition, according to the official, the night before, russians tried to attack a passenger train between Dnipro and Kovel with a kamikaze drone. Thanks to the quick application of security protocols, preventive stopping and evacuation of passengers, no casualties were avoided - the UAV fell a few meters from the locomotive
The head of Mykolaiv Region, Vitalii Kim, also sharply criticized the activities of local Telegram channels that promptly published footage of the attack. He called such actions assistance to the enemy and announced appropriate response measures against the administrators of these resources. Currently, all relevant services continue to work at the site of the morning shelling to eliminate the consequences.
Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction Oleksii Kuleba clarified that the enemy drone hit an empty train that arrived for maintenance
"This morning in the Mykolaiv Region, an enemy drone hit an empty train that arrived for maintenance. Unfortunately, one Ukrzaliznytsia employee was wounded. He was provided with all necessary medical care," the official said.
Kuleba also revealed details of another attempted attack that took place the night before. A russian drone tried to hit a passenger train between Dnipro and Kovel. The tragedy was averted thanks to the coordinated actions of the railroad workers who applied security protocols in time.
"The railway workers quickly applied safety protocols: they stopped the train and preventively evacuated passengers. As a result, the enemy UAV hit a few meters from the locomotive. No one was injured. When the threat disappeared, the train continued to move," the Deputy Prime Minister said.
At the same time, Vitali Kim harshly criticized local Telegram channels that published footage of the morning hit in real time. The head of the region called such actions "assistance to the enemy" and warned of retaliatory measures by law enforcement agencies. Currently, all services continue to eliminate the consequences of the morning attack in Mykolaiv.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of March 4, 2026, russian occupation forces launched a massive attack with attack drones on the territory of the Dnipropetrovsk Region.
