Population reduces foreign currency purchase by 34% to USD 541 million in February

The net purchase of foreign currency by the population in February this year decreased by 34% to USD 541 million in equivalent

This is evidenced by the data of the NBU, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

In February, purchases of non-cash foreign currency amounted to USD 354 million, while sales amounted to USD 332 million.

The volumes of cash purchases and sales in February decreased and amounted to USD 1.635 billion and USD 1.116 billion, respectively.

Thus, the net purchase of cash currency by the population last month amounted to USD 519 million.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, banks in December increased gold imports almost 4 times to a record USD 15.3 million in equivalent since the beginning of the war.
