Private remittances decrease by 9.4% to USD 0.6 billion in January

The volume of private remittances decreased by 9.4% and amounted to USD 0.6 billion in January this year.

This is stated in the materials of the NBU, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

It is noted that the wages received by Ukrainians from abroad decreased by 27.8%, while other private transfers received through official channels increased by 20.3%.

In general, remittances sent through official channels were 1.6% less than in January last year, while the flow through informal channels decreased by 20.3% compared to January last year.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the volume of private remittances in 2025 decreased by 14.7% and amounted to USD 8 billion.

In 2024, the volume of private remittances decreased by 15.2% to USD 9.6 billion.

In 2023, the volume of private remittances decreased by 7.8% compared to 2022 and amounted to USD 11.6 billion.

In 2021, the volume of remittances to Ukraine increased by 25.4% to USD 15.026 billion compared to 2020.
