Russia is preparing to continue massive attacks on critical Ukrainian targets throughout the spring, while not reducing the cynicism of its strikes. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this in a video address following the National Security and Defense Council meeting.

The head of state said that the meeting considered a plan to prepare the country for the next winter period. According to him, almost all regions and large cities have provided specific strategies for energy and logistics, but the capital was the only city that was not ready for future challenges. The President emphasized that it is now important to introduce alternative sources of generation and heat, as well as to strengthen the real protection of facilities to avoid the disasters the country has faced this year.

The state strategy for the near future includes two key components: repelling spring attacks on infrastructure and building energy resilience to the new cold weather in advance. Zelenskyy emphasized that all diplomatic and military resources would be used for this purpose, and the experience of the most prepared regions would become an example for the whole country.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, during the winter of 2025-2026, the russian occupation forces carried out 14 massive combined attacks on the territory of Ukraine. While in December and January the enemy launched seven large-scale attacks, in February the intensity of shelling doubled - the country withstood seven more powerful attacks in one month.
