At a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), resilience plans for next winter were approved for all regions, except Kyiv. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"The National Security and Defense Council approved resilience plans for all Ukrainian regions and regional cities, except Kyiv, which was given additional time to prepare relevant substantive documents. Today, Kyiv was not ready - as it was for this winter. We need to have time to prepare and complete every task by the next one," he said.
Zelenskyy stressed that every city, every Ukrainian community must be ready for any scenario for next winter and for real support for people.
He added that the government, in particular the Ministry of Defense, and the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have received tasks and will help the regions prepare.
Zelenskyy noted that the experience of this winter will become the basis for further decisions, namely: updating protection for infrastructure, logistics, major energy facilities, restoring facilities after russian strikes, and providing additional energy capabilities.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 2, Zelenskyy announced that he would convene a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council to approve a defense strategy for the coming winter.
The government has authorized the Air Force to provide critical infrastructure enterprises with air defense assets.
