We have more than enough gasoline in March, there is no reason to panic - Kuyun

Director of the A-95 Consulting Group Serhii Kuyun believes that Ukraine has more than enough gasoline and there is no reason to panic.

He announced this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"It seems that we will be flooded with gasoline in March, there are no signs of a shortage of diesel fuel either. On the contrary, the disappearance of the frost resistance factor has opened all the floodgates. No one even mentions Hungarian-Slovak supplies, because the market is flooded. So, please don't panic, we're fine!" Kuyun wrote.

He noted that the first working day after the start of the war in Iran did not bring any tangible changes to the oil market: USD 82 per barrel (versus 72 on Friday).

According to Kuyun, the price should have risen to 150 or at least 100.

It is already a tradition for investment bankers to predict USD 100, USD 120, USD 150 or US D200 per barrel in any incomprehensible situation.

In Ukraine, the first reaction was to curtail wholesale trade: on Monday, only three traders - UPG, ZPEK and Martin Trade - offered "fuel truck" offers with a huge price tag (just market), and the majority generally refrained "until clarification".

Kuyun writes that some foreign suppliers reported that they were also taking a break and would not give additional volumes.

Currently, the main threat, in the expert's opinion, is panic.

Some chains, which usually trade in the middle price range, want to "stick" as close as possible to the leaders, because they are afraid that they can be quickly emptied.

The leaders also want to play it safe, so this week we will see a rise in the classics - by UAH 2-3.

This is a dangerous story, because many consumers perceive the price increase as a signal to immediately buy fuel and build up reserves.

Kuyun also added that judging by the pace of events, we need to wait out the current week.

"Personally, I expect low prices as soon as the "Iranian" factor disappears. There is already a lot of oil in the world, and there will be even more, because one way or another, production in Iran has been squeezed by long-term sanctions," Kuyun added.

He believes that fuel prices in Ukraine will also fall accordingly.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Kuyun does not give forecasts for what will happen to the prices of oil, gasoline and diesel in Ukraine due to events in the Middle East.

On February 28, US President Donald Trump made an official statement in which he confirmed the start of a large-scale military operation against Iran.

Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the elimination of 40 key Iranian military commanders and all high-ranking leaders of the "Iranian axis of terror."
