The Ministry of Defense is working on an analogue of the Chinese compact DJI Mavic quadcopters, is already testing solutions that will soon be scaled on the front. This was announced by Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"An alternative to Mavics. We are working on products that can be an analogue of Mavics, using AI. We are already testing solutions that will soon be scaled on the front," he said.
Fedorov said that last week he worked at the front for several days - in the Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv Axes, met with corps and group commanders, brigade commanders, heads of military administrations in order to synchronize solutions to strengthen defense and systematically prepare for spring.
He named the key priorities: increasing tactical and operational depth; scaling drones and interceptors; protecting logistics and critical routes; replenishment of brigades; deployment of additional air defense groups; development of electronic warfare and radar field; development of fortifications.
Fedorov reported that the Ministry of Defense is launching a basic minimum provision of drones to brigades - this is a guaranteed monthly provision of FPV, reconnaissance, bombers and other UAVs - in addition to state supplies, eBals and other purchases, this will allow brigades to plan defense and be confident in the resource.
The ministry is also working on centralized provision of the army with Starlinks and pickup trucks.
Fedorov also reported that the Ministry of Defense has revised the target indicators for drone provision for the year, a procurement plan has been formed for interceptors, FPV and fiber-optic drones, reconnaissance wings, and strike drones for operational depth.
He added that there will be more such means, the first quarter has already been contracted, and the results of the purchases will soon become tangible at the front.
In addition, Fedorov reported that this year the Ukrainian army will have many times more ground robotic logistics systems to reduce personnel losses.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Fedorov previously reported that a comprehensive plan is being developed to address problems with mobilization and cases of unauthorized abandonment of a military unit, one of the key elements of which is the expansion of the participation of foreigners.
