China urges its citizens to leave Iran immediately over possible US attack

China has urged its citizens to leave Iran as soon as possible and not plan trips to the country due to the growing threat of US strikes, the South China Morning Post reported on Friday, February 27.

The publication said fears of US air strikes on Iran are growing after the latest round of talks between the two countries ended without a deal.

"The Foreign Ministry in Beijing warned of a significant increase in external security risks in Iran and said its citizens should not travel to the country," the report said.

The embassy also noted that Chinese citizens already in Iran should "enhance their security measures and evacuate as soon as possible."

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, The Wall Street Journal reported that the negotiations between the United States and Iran, which took place on February 26 in Geneva, did not yield results, as the parties were unable to agree on a new nuclear agreement.

The administration of US President Donald Trump also demands that a potential nuclear agreement with Iran not have an expiration date and provide for indefinite restrictions on Tehran.

Recall that on February 19, Trump gave Iran ten days to conclude a nuclear agreement.
