Great Britain and France complete training paratroopers for possible mission in Ukraine - The Telegraph

British and French military personnel have conducted the final stage of the Orion exercises in the province of Brittany.

This is announced by The Telegraph, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

It is noted that during the exercises, the deployment of forces was simulated to support an ally under the threat of invasion.

These units may be involved in Ukraine if an agreement on a ceasefire is reached.

The exercises started after the statement of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer about the intention of London and Paris to lead a peacekeeping mission.

About 2,000 military personnel took part in the training, including the British 16th Airborne Brigade, which is part of the high-readiness forces.

During the maneuvers, the paratroopers practiced landing from aircraft, organizing ambushes and offensive actions.

Particular attention was paid to modern technologies.

According to French General Renaud Ronde, such exercises "allow testing of new solutions," including the use of drones and hybrid communication networks.

Although the official composition of the units for Ukraine has not yet been determined, the trained brigades are capable of deploying in the shortest possible time.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously reported that Ukraine hopes to deploy foreign military contingents directly in the combat zone.

Germany is considering the possibility of deploying its military contingent in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) countries neighboring Ukraine after reaching agreements on a ceasefire.
