The first Ukrainian defense plant begins operation in the UK - a complex of the Ukrainian company Ukrspecsystems for the production of drones. This was announced by the Ambassador of Ukraine to the UK Valerii Zaluzhnyi in Telegram, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"The first Ukrainian defense plant begins operation in the UK - a production complex of the company Ukrspecsystems, whose drones have long proven their effectiveness in high-tech warfare," he said.

Zaluzhnyi noted that the launch of production in the UK has a deep strategic logic, it is not a transfer of the center of gravity from Ukraine, it is an expansion of joint capabilities and the creation of a second circuit of stability, which guarantees the continuity of production.
"We are leaving the center of engineering expertise in Ukraine, and integrating production into the British defense space. We are creating a new quality of partnership, when allies not only support each other, but also form a common industrial security base," he emphasized.
The ambassador added that for Ukraine this project means stability and the possibility of long-term planning, for Britain it means strengthening its own defense industry, access to technologies proven in modern warfare, and job creation.
"This is an example of how combat experience can be quickly integrated into industrial solutions and its own security," he noted.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in September 2025, the Ukrainian company Ukrspecsystems announced the implementation of an investment program, within the framework of which it will build a plant for the production of unmanned aerial vehicles and a testing center in the United Kingdom.
Ukrspecsystems CEO Rory Chamberlain said the company is implementing a GBP 200 million investment programme, including the construction of a drone manufacturing facility in Mildenhall and a test centre in Elmsetty.
The new plant will cover 11,000 square metres, the project will create up to 500 jobs, recruitment and training will begin by the end of 2025, and drone production is scheduled to begin in early 2026.
Ukrspecsystems has been operating on the market since 2014, having gained a reputation as a developer of highly effective unmanned solutions, its hallmarks being the PD-2, Gekata and Shark reconnaissance systems.
