Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on a successful attack on a strategic facility in russia, all Flamingo missiles aimed at the Votkinsk plant reached their target, despite the enemy's air defenses' attempts to prevent the strike. The President called this launch at a distance of 1,400 kilometers a significant achievement of the Ukrainian defense industry. He stated this during a press conference with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
Commenting on the effectiveness of the operation, Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that he would not disclose the exact number of missiles used, but emphasized the main result.
"I will not say how many Flamingos were used this time, I just want to say that there were downings by russian air defense, there were non-downings and there were clear hits, but the most important thing is that all the missiles that were launched all reached the target," the head of state said.
The President also added that Ukraine plans to increase the pace of production of these weapons, although this requires stable financing and the supply of necessary components. He noted that russian troops are actively trying to attack production lines, so restoring capacity after enemy strikes was a long process. Despite all the difficulties, Ukrainian industry continues to work, and the President announced an increase in the number of targeted attacks on military facilities on russian territory in the future.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Votkinsk Plant Joint Stock Company, which manufactures missile engines for russian Iskander missiles and intercontinental ballistic missiles (in particular, for Oreshnik missiles), was attacked in the Republic of Udmurtia.
