Nearly 5,000 civilians killed in Donetsk Region since beginning of russia's full-scale invasion

Russian occupants have killed 4,861 civilians in the Donetsk Region since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Over the four years of the full-scale war, the occupiers have destroyed or damaged almost 80,000 civilian infrastructure objects.

The Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office reported this on Tuesday, February 24.

Since February 24, 2022, 4,861 civilians have been killed as a result of hostilities in the Donetsk Region. Another 8,983 civilians have been injured and traumatized.

As a result of shelling with the use of various types of weapons, the occupiers destroyed or damaged 78,953 civilian objects.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, law enforcement officers have documented 68,540 facts of war crimes. Law enforcement officers have already served 49 people with a notice of suspicion. Indictments were sent to court against 35 of them, and two more were convicted in absentia.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on February 17, the occupiers' army launched a strike at the Sloviansk thermal power plant in the north of the Donetsk Region. The shelling killed three employees of the facility.
