The aggressor country russia is attacking Ukraine with ballistic missiles actually from the factory, i.e. produced in late 2025-early 2026. Advisor to the Minister of Defense Serhii Beskrestnov (Flash) announced this on his Telegram channel on Tuesday, February 24.
Beskrestnov noted that only Patriot air defense systems can shoot down russian ballistic missiles. According to him, several missiles may be needed to shoot down one target, so this is a big problem for Ukraine. In a long-term war of attrition, russian production should be confronted with a set of solutions.
"All the ballistics that come to us are made in late 2025 or early 2026, which means that we are actually attacked with missiles from the factory. Iskander is made of 90% Russian components and 60 units are produced per month. There are other S300/400 missiles. Can we expect to be supplied with missiles against ballistic missiles for a long time? Probably not. The world's military resources are not unlimited," the advisor to the Minister of Defense emphasized.
In his opinion, Ukraine needs to participate in the development of anti-ballistic systems (both its own and jointly with other countries), as well as protect all key facilities, both military and civilian. Any of our thermal power plants or substation 750 should be able to withstand missile attacks, Beskrestnov emphasized.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on February 24, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that 80% of Ukraine's territory remains unprotected from ballistic missile attacks by the aggressor country russia due to an acute shortage of appropriate air defense systems.
On February 17, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine had offered the United States to launch the production of missiles for Patriot air defense systems in Romania or Poland. But Washington refused to grant licenses.
Recall that in October 2025, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine wants to purchase 25 Patriot air defense systems with phased deliveries over several years.
