Ukrainian cyber experts have said that russian attack drone operators are using the territory and civilian infrastructure of Belarus to plot routes and maintain communications during attacks on Ukraine. In the second half of 2025, the russians deployed a system of repeaters in Belarus to control drones, which increased the ability to strike the northern regions of Ukraine. This is stated in the material of the analytical cyber center Fenix and the international intelligence community InformNapalm.

Is Belarus helping russia in the war against Ukraine?

In the second half of 2025, the russians deployed a system of repeaters in Belarus to control attack drones. According to the authors, this increased the russian army's ability to strike at the northern regions of Ukraine - from the Kyiv Region to the Volyn Region.

According to Fenix and InformNapalm, Ukrainian hackers managed to gain access to russian military accounts and monitoring systems used by drone operators. Covert surveillance of their activities and correspondence was organized, and information was promptly transmitted to the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

The authors claim that the operation lasted more than six months - at least from mid-2025 - and improved situational awareness of drone flight routes and launch sites.
