The Armed Forces of Ukraine have regained control over 400 square kilometers of territory and 8 settlements on the Oleksandrivka axis since the end of January. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi announced this on Facebook, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Since the end of January this year, on the Oleksandrivka axis, an Air Assault Forces group and adjacent units have regained control over 400 square kilometers of territory and eight settlements," he said.
Syrskyi said that he works directly in the areas of combat missions in the Southern Operational Zone, during his regular working trip he visited the units that are advancing and the units that are holding the defense in one of the key sections of the frontline.
During the meeting with the commanders, they discussed the state of combat missions, problematic issues and proposals for their solution, identified priority steps to strengthen the defense and supply of units.
Syrskyi noted that the situation in this area is difficult, the enemy continues to exert pressure, actively uses small assault groups for infiltration, uses artillery, unmanned aerial vehicles, and in some places armored vehicles, but Ukrainian soldiers not only hold the defense but also successfully operate in the offensive.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on February 20, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Ukrainian Defense Forces liberated 300 square kilometers of territory as a result of counter-offensive and assault operations.
The main tasks facing the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Oleksandrivka axis are to disrupt the enemy's plans for further advancement in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia Regions, to attack and push it beyond the administrative border of the Dnipropetrovsk Region.
In 2026, the Oleksandrivka axis, at the junction of the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk Regions, became one of the hottest spots on the frontline due to the enemy's active offensive.
