US President Donald Trump has announced that he will raise the temporary tariff rate on imports to the US from all countries from 10% to 15%.
The White House leader announced this on his own social network Truth Social.
"I, as President of the United States of America, with immediate effect will increase the 10% global tariff on countries, many of which have been "ripping off" the US for decades without any consequences (until I showed up!), to the fully authorized and legally verified level of 15%," the American President emphasized.
According to Trump, his administration will determine and publish new, legally permissible tariffs in the next few months.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on Friday, the Supreme Court invalidated tariffs imposed under the US International Emergency Economic Powers Act.
However, as our agency reported, within hours, Trump signed an executive order imposing a 10% global tariff on a different legal basis, while maintaining existing sectoral tariffs.
