The russian state continues to prepare the ground for a complete blocking of Telegram for russians.
This is reported by the portal of the publication The Moscow Times.
Following Roskomnadzor and the The Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the russian federation (Minkomsvyaz), the FSB joined in filing claims against the service, whose press service stated that, according to "reliable data", the Ukrainian army and special services have the opportunity "to receive information posted in the messenger in the shortest possible time and use it for military purposes".
From this, according to the FSB, it follows that the use of the messenger by the russian military in Ukraine "over the past three months has repeatedly led to a threat to the lives of servicemen". To reach this conclusion, the security forces conducted an analysis of Telegram's work and received "numerous reliable information" that allegedly confirms this version.
Earlier, after the actual shutdown of the Internet via Starlink satellites, russian military personnel and Z-bloggers began to complain en masse about the slowdown of Telegram, which, according to them, left thousands of soldiers on the front lines without communication.
Problems with access to the messenger in the russian federation have intensified since February 9 - users throughout russia have stopped downloading any files due to the slowdown by the Roskomnadzor. The regulator itself stated that the blocking will continue until the Telegram management reaches an agreement with the authorities.
According to the Roskomnadzor, the messenger does not provide protection for the personal data of russians and does not fight fraudsters and terrorists.
