NBU's International Cooperation Department headed by Andrii Bukvych

Andrii Bukvych has been appointed Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the National Bank of Ukraine as of February 18, 2026.

This is stated in the message of the NBU, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

His responsibilities will include, in particular:

- ensuring the implementation of measures in the field of European integration, the development of cooperation with the EU in the financial sphere and interaction with its institutions;

- developing cooperation with international financial organizations, the implementation of international projects and programs, as well as strengthening the international presence of the National Bank;

- developing dialogue with central banks and financial institution supervisory authorities of foreign countries, ensuring the representation of the interests and position of the National Bank in Ukraine's international relations;

- developing cooperation with international partners to strengthen the institutional capacity of the National Bank and disseminate its own experience on issues within the competence of the National Bank.

The Department of International Cooperation belongs to the Financial Stability vertical, which is under the overall supervision of First Deputy Governor of the NBU Serhii Nikolaichuk.

Andrii Bukvych has experience in diplomacy and public administration, and has been working in international relations for almost 27 years.

Prior to his appointment to the National Bank, he was a Counselor-Envoy of the Embassy of Ukraine in Canada (since September 2021). In 2020–2021, he headed the Foreign Policy Directorate of the Office of the President of Ukraine. In 2016–2020, he worked at the Embassy of the United Kingdom in Ukraine (Counselor on Economic and Energy Issues). For many years, he worked in diplomatic service positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine (Diplomatic Counselor), and the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States of America (First Secretary).

He has experience in teaching at the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, as well as in the industrial sector - he worked as Deputy Chairman of the Board for Financial Affairs of the Ukrainian-German joint venture SMA-Artem OJSC.

Andrii Bukvych graduated with honors from the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (Master of International Economic Relations, specialization - international monetary and credit relations, English translator).

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Ihor Luzhanskyi has been appointed Director of the Strategy and Development Department of the National Bank from December 29, 2025.
