The CEO of the Polish state-owned energy company Orlen, Ireneusz Fąfara, said on February 16 that they plan to increase natural gas supplies to Ukraine in 2026 by more than 40% compared to last year to more than 1 billion cubic meters.

ExPro publication writes about this, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

The report says that in 2025, Orlen supplied about 0.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Ukraine.

It is noted that the supplies are carried out under commercial contracts between Orlen and Ukrainian counterparties, primarily the state-owned Naftogaz of Ukraine.

In 2025, part of the resource was supplied to cover peak needs during periods of increased demand amid a collapse in production after russian attacks.

The partners, together with the Polish export credit agency KUKE, provided Naftogaz with a leverage for post-payment of these volumes

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in early February, NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine in partnership with ORLEN secured the supply of the first batch of American liquefied natural gas (LNG) for Ukraine in 2026, namely almost 100 million cubic meters.

In early November 2025, Naftogaz Group and the Polish company ORLEN agreed to supply up to 300 million cubic meters of American liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Ukraine.
