Germany exhausted its air defense reserves for Ukraine

Germany has transferred to Ukraine the entire available resource of its own air defense missiles. This was stated by German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, noting that Berlin has actually given away its entire operational stock.

According to the minister, the situation with air defense remains tense due to the specifics of production. Patriot systems and missiles for them are mostly manufactured in the United States, and although Berlin actively finances purchases, new weapons are immediately sent from the conveyors directly to the front.

"We provided everything we had. Other European countries could have made a greater contribution. There are other air defense systems in one or another European country," Wadephul emphasized.

Berlin emphasized that further protection of Ukrainian skies cannot be the business of only one country. Currently, Germany's capabilities are limited, so the authorities are calling on EU allies to open their own arsenals and become more actively involved in helping.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in January, the russians launched 91 ballistic missiles at Ukraine, the highest monthly figure ever. Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy openly spoke about critical gaps in the defense of the sky, which led to the destruction of the capital's combined heat and power plants.
