President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has ordered to prepare additional defense measures, taking into account intelligence information about russia's preparation of a massive strike. Zelenskyy announced this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"I instructed the commander of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Anatolii Kryvonozhko, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov and the head of Ukrenergo Vitalii Zaichenko to prepare the necessary additional protection measures during the day, taking into account the information from the intelligence service about Russia's preparation of a massive strike," he said.
Zelenskyy said that he had held a conference call with a report on the consequences of the night strike - the russians again used missiles against energy facilities.
The President emphasized that even on the eve of the meetings of the three parties in Geneva, the russian army continues to strike at Ukraine and this eloquently shows how russia treats the diplomatic efforts of its partners and that is why Ukraine insists that only with sufficient pressure on russia and clear security guarantees can Ukraine really end this war.
Zelenskyy noted that the Ukrainian team is working to accelerate the delivery of missiles for air defense - this is a constant priority.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that russian troops launched 6 missiles of various types and 62 attack drones at the territory of Ukraine on the night of Monday, February 16, and the air defense forces managed to neutralize 54 enemy targets - 2 missiles and 52 drones.
