The United States is ready to support the Israeli army in its possible operation to strike Iranian missile program facilities. US President Donald Trump said this to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, CBS News reports, citing sources.

The unnamed interlocutors said that in December 2025, during a personal meeting, Trump assured Netanyahu that the United States would support Israeli strikes on Iran's ballistic missile program.

Earlier in February, it became known that senior officials in the US military and intelligence community began to consider supporting a new campaign of strikes against Iran. Discussions are focused on what kind of assistance Washington can provide to the Israeli army. It is about the use of American refueling aircraft and obtaining permission to fly over the territories of countries along the potential route.

It is unclear which countries will grant overflight permission so that the US can refuel Israeli aircraft for a potential strike. Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates have all publicly stated that they will not allow their airspace to be used to launch strikes against Iran.

All of this is happening against the backdrop of the Trump administration's negotiations with Iran's leadership over its nuclear program. Israel remains skeptical of diplomacy with Iran.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on January 30, Axios wrote, citing sources, that the leadership of Saudi Arabia supported possible US strikes on Iran.

Not long before, US President Trump called on Iran to conclude a nuclear deal, threatening with US naval forces approaching the Middle East.
