On the evening of February 15, russian troops struck Konotop in the Sumy Region, destroying an important piece of city infrastructure. Mayor Artem Semenikhin has stated this.

The entire city is currently supplied with electricity using generators.

The explosion occurred at 7:16 p.m., Sunday, almost immediately after the Air Forces warned of a ballistic missile threat from the north.

The head of Konotop noted that despite the significant destruction, no civilians were killed or injured. At the same time, he refrained from commenting on the extent of the damage for security reasons

"I can only say that we have no casualties and injuries, and the city's infrastructure was destroyed. I will not comment on the rest..." emphasized Artem Semenikhin.

City services are currently working to support the community's vital activity in an emergency situation and to power critical facilities from backup power sources.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, a power accident occurred in the Odesa Region, leaving part of the region without electricity and water.
