The Cabinet of Ministers is not considering raising electricity tariffs for households yet.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Svyrydenko has stated this during a conversation with journalists, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
"It would be a strange decision to raise the electricity tariff in the event of a blackout. When people do not receive at least a third of electricity, how else are we going to raise the tariff for it? It would be a very bad decision," Svyrydenko said.
Ukraine is currently working with the IMF to obtain a new program, and the IMF expects the government to develop a tariff liberalization map by the end of July 2026, which should start working after the martial law is lifted.
Earlier on his Facebook page, former MP from the Batkivshchyna party Andrii Pavlovskyi reported that on the first day of the 15th session of the Verkhovna Rada, MPs voted for two bills that are going to pay for the government's failures in the energy sector at the expense of ordinary Ukrainians and entrepreneurs.
Draft law No. 13219 imposes an obligation on Ukrainian citizens and entrepreneurs to pay an additional UAH 37 billion to monopoly private owners of solar and wind power by increasing electricity tariffs.
As for the draft law No. 14067, it provides for the entire modernization of district heating systems to be carried out not at the expense of reparations, but by raising the tariff for heat for people.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in early February, the National Bank assumed that electricity prices for the population could be raised after the heating season.
Until April 30, 2026, the electricity tariff for households is UAH 4.32/kWh.
At the same time, the night tariff and the tariff for electric heating are half as low.
