Europe should be a full participant in the negotiation process between Ukraine and russia, as it bears the main financial burden of supporting Kyiv. Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski has stated this in an interview with Bloomberg.

The Polish foreign minister expressed outrage that European countries are effectively excluded from the trilateral format of negotiations, which intensified in early 2026 under US leadership.

"It’s getting a little strange. We pay for the war and we don’t even always have the full information. We are spending real money, whereas the US is actually making money on this war," Sikorsky emphasized.

He explained that he was referring to the PURL initiative, under which NATO countries purchase weapons for Ukraine from American manufacturers. According to the diplomat, such large-scale investments give Europe "the right to have a voice in the arrangements and the outcomes."

Sikorski also reminded about the amount of aid: The EU has already allocated more than EUR 200 billion for Ukraine's defense over the next two years and is preparing a new loan of EUR 90 billion.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski appealed to American billionaire and SpaceX founder Elon Musk to ban the aggressor state of russia to use Starlinks to strike Ukrainian cities, in response, the American billionaire insulted the Polish diplomat.
