Ukraine considers the PURL program as a key mechanism for providing critical missiles to strengthen air defense and counter ballistic threats.

Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has announced this.

"We need the help of partners to counter ballistic threats. We discussed the PURL program as a key mechanism for providing Ukraine with critically needed missiles," he wrote on Telegram following bilateral meetings in the Ramstein format.

Fedorov noted that he had held a number of bilateral meetings and presented his priorities as defense minister, vision and specific projects to build win-win partnerships.

In particular, he met with the Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General Alexus Grynkewich.

Meanwhile, we discussed the implementation of the roadmap for cooperation within the framework of the centenary partnership with the UK Secretary of Defense John Healey. We also discussed the timing and volume of deliveries of Octopus interceptors.

With German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, Fedorov notes, they focused on contributions to strengthening drone assault units, developing midstrike and anti-drone capabilities.

"We looked at the possibilities of replacing Mavic drones with Ukrainian solutions in cooperation with partners," he said.

Fedorov added that they also focused on cooperation within the Patriot for Ukraine program.

Fedorov also held talks with Belgian Defense Minister Theo Francken, Latvian Defense Minister Andris Sprūds, Norwegian Defense Minister Tore O. Sandvik, Australian Defense Minister Richard Marles and Canadian National Defense Minister David McGuinty.

"The key topic of all the meetings is defense assistance to Ukraine, first of all, strengthening air defense. This is a priority task from the President," the Minister emphasized.

The parties also discussed promising areas of cooperation: finding cheap and effective solutions to counter Shaheds, supplying long-range artillery, launching joint productions and additional contributions of partners to the PURL program.
