In January 2026, compared to the same period in 2025, the demand for cars with diesel engines increased by 17% to 5,000 units.
This is stated in the message of the Ukravtoprom association, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Of the 5 thousand cars with diesel engines that replenished the Ukrainian fleet last month, 1,200 were new cars (+33%) and 3,800 were used, imported from abroad (+12%).
The TOP-5 models of new diesel cars were: Renault Duster - 316 units; Toyota Land Cruiser Prado - 200 units; Peugeot Landtrek - 73 units; Volkswagen Touareg - 65 units and Skoda Kodiaq - 63 units.
TOP-5 imported used diesel cars: Renault Megane - 282 units; Nissan Qashqai - 279 units; Skoda Octavia - 243 units; Volkswagen Passat - 195 units and Volkswagen Golf - 159 units.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in September 2025, compared to the same period in 2024, demand for cars with diesel engines decreased by 10% to 5,200 units.
