The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) named the banks that suffered the largest losses in 2025.
This is evidenced by NBU data, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Thus, last year, 7 banks out of 60 suffered losses.
The state-owned bank PIN Bank suffered the largest loss for the reporting period – UAH 63.19 million.
The next largest loss is Crystal Bank – UAH 32.8 million.
The top three were closed by Ukrainian Capital Bank with a loss of UAH 17.7 million.
Also suffered losses: Motor-Bank – UAH 16.3 million, Trust Capital Bank – UAH 7.6 million, Transitional Bank UTE Bank – UAH 3.3 million, Alliance Bank – UAH 2.9 million.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the profit tax rate for banks in 2026 will increase 2 times to 50%, with a simultaneous ban on reducing the financial result before tax by the amount of losses from previous periods.
During 2023-2024, the state decided to tax banks' excess profits at the end of the year.
But in 2025, the tax was not raised and banks will pay corporate profit tax at the base rate of 25%.
