The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on its Facebook page, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"On February 12, as part of systematic measures to reduce the military-economic potential of the Russian aggressor, units of the Security Service of Ukraine and other components of the Defense Forces of our state hit the Ukhta oil refinery (Ukhta, Komi Republic, Russian Federation)," the report says.
It is noted that the distance from the state border of Ukraine is 1,750 kilometers.
According to preliminary information, after the hit, a fire broke out in the AVT technological section and the visbreaking installation.
The main purpose of the visbreaking unit is to reduce the viscosity of the raw material to obtain commercial fuel oil and additional light fractions (gasoline, gas oil).
The enterprise, which is part of PJSC Lukoil, refines oil with an annual volume of about 4.2 million tons.
The main products are automotive and straight-run gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, vacuum gas oil.
The plant is involved in supplying the russian occupation army.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of Wednesday, February 11, the Defense Forces of Ukraine struck the Volgograd Oil Refinery (Volgograd, Volgograd Oblast of the russian federation), as well as fuel and lubricants warehouses and logistics, air defense systems and enemy concentration sites.
Today, February 12, Reuters reported, citing sources, that the Volgograd Refinery has suspended oil processing due to damage to key equipment as a result of the Ukrainian attack.
