Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau Semen Kryvonos said that law enforcement agencies installed a wiretap on the head of the NABU detectives' unit and tried to wiretap him.
It was reported by the NABU, and Kryvonos also said this at a press conference, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"The head of the NABU detective unit investigating corruption in the defense sector was found to have devices for covertly collecting information. In particular, the unit is investigating the case of fraud in the purchase of UAVs, and its head is a member of the group of detectives in the Midas case," the NABU said.
According to preliminary data, an attempt to install wiretapping equipment was made by employees of one of the law enforcement agencies. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau has already launched a pre-trial investigation into this fact.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, NABU plans to request Israel to extradite Mindich and other defendants in the Midas case. The Prosecutor General's Office opened criminal proceedings against Kryvonos's subordinates for illegal wiretapping of lawyers. The NABU illegally wiretapped the deputy head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Council.
