Imports of goods into Ukraine exceed exports by two times in January

In January 2026, Ukraine imported goods worth USD 6.7 billion and exported USD 3.2 billion.

The State Customs Service has said this in a statement, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

At the same time, taxed imports amounted to USD 4.4 billion, which is 66% of the total volume of imported goods.

So, among the leaders of countries that imported goods to Ukraine: China - USD 1.9 billion, Turkey - USD 703 million, and Poland - USD 623 million.

The total volume of goods imported in January 2026 included the following categories of goods:

  • machinery, equipment and transport - USD 2.7 billion;
  • fuel and energy - USD 1.1 billion;
  • chemicals - USD 869 million.

Ukraine exported the most to Poland - USD 358 million, Turkey - USD 276 million, Italy - USD 232 million.

The top three most exported goods from Ukraine included:

  • food products - USD 2.0 billion;
  • metals and products made of them - USD 286 million;
  • machinery, equipment and transport - USD 253 million.

The report says that in January 2026, UAH 187.1 million was paid to the budget during customs clearance of exports of goods subject to export duties.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in 2025 Ukraine imported goods worth USD 84.8 billion and exported USD 40.3 billion.
