Pope Leo XIV has organized a large-scale humanitarian support for Ukraine to help people survive the harsh winter and the consequences of the war. It was reported by Vatican News.

Pontiff expressed his sincere gratitude for the solidarity initiatives that are emerging in dioceses around the world, including Poland, and personally initiated the sending of three trucks with 80 power generators.

The equipment has already arrived at its destinations and will be used in shelters and heating centers to provide people with warmth and hot food in the face of critical frosts reaching -15 degrees.

In addition to energy equipment, the Vatican has sent thousands of medicines to Kyiv, Fastiv and the areas affected by the shelling, including antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs and drugs to improve sleep in conditions of constant stress.

The shipment, which departed from Hagia Sophia in Rome, also contained food, and the next batch of aid with medicines and food is currently being prepared for shipment. All resources will be distributed through a network of local parishes in different dioceses of Ukraine to provide the most effective support to those in need.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Kyiv received 177 generators with a capacity of 20-22 kW from the European Union as emergency aid. They will be connected to individual heating stations in buildings where there is such a possibility.
