In December, total credits commercial banks granted to the corporate sector and private persons decreased by 11.2% to UAH 1,197.330 billion.
The National Bank announced this in a statement, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Since the beginning of the year, the volume of loans in the economy has increased by 8.2% from UAH 1,106.8 billion.
The volume of hryvnia loans to legal entities for the reporting month decreased by 21.5% to UAH 554.849 billion.
The volume of loans issued to businesses in foreign currency increased by 1.6% to UAH 293.021 billion.
The volume of loans issued to the population for the reporting period decreased by 1.1% to UAH 340.783 billion.
In December, interest rates on hryvnia loans for businesses decreased by 0.1 pp to 15.1%, for the population – rose by 0.2 pp to 35.2%.
On foreign currency loans, rates for businesses increased from 5.5% to 6.7%.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in 2024, banks' credits to the economy increased by 10.9% from UAH 997.877 billion.
In 2023, banks' credits to the economy decreased by 1% from UAH 1,007.648 billion.
In 2022, banks' credits to the economy decreased by 3.5% from UAH 1,044.049 billion.
In 2021, total credits commercial banks granted to the corporate sector and private persons increased by 10% from UAH 948.386 billion to UAH 1,043.694 billion.
