On February 9, 2026, the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine (HACC) Appeals Chamber completed consideration of the appeals of the defense and the prosecutor against the HACC verdict of 03/25/2025, by which the current MP of Ukraine Anatolii Hunko was found guilty of committing a number of criminal offenses under Part 2 of Article 15, Part 2 of Article 28, Part 4 of Article 190, Part 4 of Article 27, Part 2 of Article 15, Part 4 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
It was announced by the HACC press service, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
MP Hunko was taken into custody in the courtroom and taken to prison to serve his sentence.
The court of first instance sentenced the MP to 7 years in prison with confiscation of all property owned by him and deprivation of the right to hold certain categories of positions for a period of 3 years. Following the review, the panel of judges dismissed the prosecutor's appeal, and partially satisfied the defense's appeal. The HACC verdict was changed in terms of the legal qualification of the accused's actions and the sentence imposed on him.
Hunko's actions were reclassified under Part 2 of Art. 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of influence) and he was sentenced to 4 years in prison with disqualification to hold positions related to the exercise of the functions of a representative of the authorities for a period of 3 years. In other respects, the verdict was upheld.
The decision came into force upon its announcement and may be appealed to the Criminal Court of Cassation of the Supreme Court.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, MP Hunko was imprisoned for 7 years for bribery and all his property was confiscated. The NABU showed an operational video of Hunko hiding the bribe under the table.
