Naftogaz has sent additional repair crews to Kyiv to help power engineers.

This is stated in a message by the Naftogaz of Ukraine Group, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"In parallel with the restoration work, together with other state energy companies, we are providing targeted assistance - tens of thousands of "heat packages" to those who need it most in Kyiv and the regions, according to requests from local authorities. There will be more," said Serhii Koretskyi, Chairman of the Board of the Naftogaz of Ukraine Serhii Koretsky.

The statement said that in order to return light and heat to the most affected areas of Kyiv as soon as possible, the Naftogaz Group crews are working side by side with power engineers and utilities of the capital.

The work is being carried out in close coordination with the Government, city authorities, local utilities and energy companies.

The company also separately donated 457 gas heaters, most of which are currently used by utility workers to quickly defrost pipes in the basements of residential buildings and restore centralized heating.

Gas heaters have also been handed over to social services, points of invincibility and elderly care facilities.

To ensure the smooth operation of the heaters, HAZMEREZHI specialists organized the prompt refueling of gas cylinders and will continue this work in the future.

It is noted that the Naftogaz Group remains involved in the restoration and support of communities affected by attacks on energy infrastructure.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal said following a meeting of the emergency response headquarters on February 8, that Ukraine's power system continues to be in a difficult state, and additional capacities are being commissioned in Kyiv.
