In December, the monetary base, which includes cash in circulation outside banks, as well as banks' reserve money and other money, according to the National Bank's operational data, decreased by 0.3% to UAH 1,174.526 billion.
This is evidenced by the data of the National Bank, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
In 2025, the monetary base grew by 11.6% to UAH 1,052.113 billion.
The money supply in December increased by 6.8% to UAH 4,023.337 billion, and for the year as a whole it increased by 15.3% from UAH 3,488.377 billion.
The volume of cash in circulation, according to the NBU's preliminary data, increased by 1.1% to UAH 867.053 billion in December, and for the year as a whole it increased by 14.1% from UAH 759.753 billion.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in 2024, the monetary base increased by 7.7% from UAH 976.940 billion.
In 2023, the monetary base grew by 23.3% from UAH 792.537 billion.
In 2022, the monetary base increased by 19.6% from UAH 662.499 billion.
In 2021, the monetary base increased by 11.2% from UAH 595.993 billion to UAH 662.499 billion.
